Tree Hugger

If I was to call you a Tree Hugger, would you feel insulted or complimented?

In the not-so-distant past, to be called a Tree Hugger was considered an insult. Tree Huggers were portrayed as eccentric environmental enthusiasts, their passion for protecting the natural world seemed out of sync with the fast-paced, materialistic society of the time.

But not anymore!

Tree Huggers are people from all walks of life, not just environmental activists, who are embracing this label as a symbol of their commitment to protecting the planet.

I’m a Tree Hugger. Not literally but I appreciate trees and what they do for us all. And it’s not just gobbling up CO2, there are other reasons too.

Apart from the obvious exercise element of walking here are a few good reasons to go for a walk in the woods this weekend

Stress Relief: woodland walks provide a natural escape from daily life.

Digital Detox: A forest walk is a perfect excuse to disconnect from digital technology and reconnect with the real world.

Connection with Nature: Time amongst trees fosters a deeper appreciation for the environment.

Enhanced Creativity: Nature’s tranquility will inspire creativity.

Cleaner Air: Woodlands offer some of the freshest, oxygen-rich air which is good for everything!

So, if you fancy a walk this weekend click HERE which will take you to The Woodland Trust’s site to find a woodland near you.

Go hug a tree you Tree Hugger!
